For the context, it’s not about killing it. The old and the new communities currently have the same number of weekly active users ( https://lemmyverse.net/communities?order=active )
There is now a script that allows to ping everyone who posted in a community to move to another one. Example: https://feddit.org/post/6859490 / !football@lemmy.world
It’s more a migration than anything else.
Thank you!
search on Lemmy kinda sucks
It’s quite good in my experience, I was able to find a few old threads with a few keywords
Yes, that didn’t use to be an issue but then became one at some point. I just created a reminder post on !fedigrow@lemm.ee, hopefully that can help.
FYI, you and @imaqtpie@sh.itjust.works should probably use local accounts to moderate, some moderation actions aren’t working for remote account. For instance, he got appointed as a mod on lemmy.ca, but that didn’t federate to https://midwest.social/c/lotrmemes
Reports aren’t fully federated as well: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/4744
Big news
Not sure if funny or depressing
Except for Blaze, the hero that Lemmy deserves
I… never said that 😅
Hello,
Thank you for jumping in. Could you please also elaborate on this one?
Hello,
Thank you for the post. Good luck with real life, seems to be a tough situation.
Almost penpals by now
existing community
No posts in the last 10 days
Are we talking about the same thing?
You were saying that my community doesn’t have anyone besides me (it’s false, as I showed below, 4 different posters). Yours has half of that, 2 posts by someone else in the last month.
So by which metric should your community prevail on this one?
I’ve closed LW communities in the past on Blaze’s request. That’s why he keeps saying “regarding league”.
Indeed. Other LW admins have as well. If you prefer me to reach out to them rather than you in the future, , I can definitely do that.
I don’t even get what you are trying to achieve here. In the case of !television@lemmy.world and !showsandmovies@lemm.ee, both communities were getting regular content everyday, so consolidating activity made sense.
Which activity are you suggesting to consolidate when your other community hasn’t had a post in 10 days?
This isn’t Reddit, communities are owned by active posters. To quote someone commenting on the recent !196@lemmy.blahaj.zone power tripping, members are not cattle that admins and mods can just move as they please.
Lemm.ee is a well managed instance, handled by a serious team, what is exactly your problem with it?
Hey,
Thank you for jumping in, appreciated
Why did you add “regarding”?
To be precise? But you still haven’t answered: how did you meet me halfway regarding league of legends?
It’s the off-season. I generally post patch notes and stuff about the pro scene. Neither of those are happening right now.
And indeed /r/LeagueOfLegends doesn’t have any content posted nor discussed /s
It’s not hard to see what you’re doing here. You’re constantly posting in order to a build a community. And instead of doing it where there was already activity, you’re on some vendetta.
I’m the current main poster on
Do you really want me to go full “vendetta”, and move those communities out of LW as well? Why do you think LW is entitled to gather all the active communities of Lemmy?
!football@lemmy.world voted to move to !Football@lemm.ee , was it all me manipulating the votes for that migration?
This isn’t a community. It’s only you trying to steal the active one from LW.
If you want your community to be active, maybe post to it more than 2 times in 23 days?
If you remove your posts, this community is absolutely dead.
I’ve done my part to meet you halfway and have gotten this in return.
Excuse me, maybe I missed something, but what have you done exactly to meet me halfway regarding league of legends communities?
Also, I just noticed today, but maybe a better way to get people to collaborate with you would be to avoid removing their comments when they try to promote other communities?
Why is one person consistently posting here, suddenly, over the last month when this community had less than 5 posts previous to this month?
Is this forbidden? 🤨
!leagueoflegends@lemmy.world has been active for over a year, even though it’s been dormant in the off season.
Last post 10 days ago, definitely doesn’t seem that active
Why would you rather split this struggling community into two rather than build something together?
For us to be building together, it would require you to build the other community as well 😄
Makes sense, then
