The whole hate against East Asian things especially hits home to me since I watched shows like South Park and Family guy when I was a kid unaware of that they’re meant for “adults”, and honestly it’s why Digimon Tamers holds such a close place in my heart cause I grew up, watching a Chinese (although he’s technically only half) boy not mocked for being a pacifist or a problem solver and not be seen as a “pussy” or some small dick joke (abid inappropriate since it’s actually made for kids but tackles mature themes so much better than South Park and Family Guy did) and be treated as a three dimension character, special thanks goes for the fact that his skin tone matched mine growing up.
