  • So due to these slimey pricks trying to save money, trimming from social welfare, which affects some of the more vulnerable communities they now have to pay out compensation from the tax payers pocket. Nice one. Be too hard to just have a welfare system that pays people a liveable amount until they’re employed.

The department has not publicly disclosed its estimated total compensation liability.

Waow, when I was on Centrelink last I had to disclose every red cent of income I had and assets worth to the government but they fuck up trying to cut people off unlawfully and suddenly transparency is a foreign concept.

  • Nah it’s pretty fucking grim out there these days. When my job at the MSP ended I would have put out -50 or so applications. Largely ignoring any that tried to take me to third party sites to fill out those absolute time waster quiz/assesments. Eventually got an interview which turned into an offer and an offer from a recruiter that found my resume and recruited for my current organisation. Consider myself very lucky. I don’t know if AI applications are shitting the process up but it seems shit for everyone out there.

I never bother with any applications that require quizzes/assessment/videos because unless they state their pay range, you’re putting in more work and they likely will just ghost you like the others. Fuck em. Good to hear you’re staying positive, definitely the better mindset to have for it.

  • Multiple states here have the ban, not just Victoria because not only is it used to make pruno, it’s strong scent is used to hide it and distract sniffer dogs looking for drugs being brought into prison. This has been the case in state prisons for 20 years.

I get what you’re saying and I don’t disagree fundamentally. Seeing how prisoners get treated in the US, I get the instinct of siding with prisoners. Also, he had his case heard and I think he earnest effort was met with earnest consideration being that he was heard and allowed to make his case. The fact remains that 1. Spreads can hardly be considered a human rights issue, at least specific choice of and 2. Being in prison in general, let alone for murder, means inherent limitations as that’s sort of the point of being imprisoned.

Again, I agree that doesn’t mean “fuck ‘em treat them as poorly as you like” but lack of Vegemite is hardly a cruel and unusual punishment.
