The Third Reich used lots of beasts of burden for their logistics as well. Makes sense when you want to save your oil and steel for fighting vehicles because your industrial base ain’t all that.

Ah, I glossed over that this was in Kursk, my bad. Got a bit used to the multiple times a week strikes against Ukrainian daycares, playgrounds, shopping malls, et al
That’s the propaganda line they say for the world and the rubes at home. Practically they know Ukrainians are Ukrainians, and they know they will need to brutalize and murder that mindset out of them if they want long-term control of the region.
Having a hard time imagining commercial grade optic wire a quarter of a mm think surviving things like a mildly stiff breeze against some bushes or tree branches.
More of a rotorcraft man myself.
I would surmise that just about every turning point in history had a majority of people with no strong philosophical or moral convictions, only caring about themselves, their families, and their continued comfort and immediate safety. And I also find that history does not cast a whole lot of blame on them.
How often does dialogue about the Third Reich talk about the German farmers and bakers and factory workers who saw their neighbors and colleagues disappear, and the only reaction they could muster is shrug. “What can you do?” “They probably deserved it.”
Is “ammunition” a mistranslation for the body armor or did he actually embezzle small arms cartridges from the AFU?
There are definitely Ukrainians selling tactical gear and militaria from both Ukraine and Russia on places like Instagram and telegram. Always figured it was unwanted stuff they couldn’t use but maybe not.
I want Ukraine to have a definite and permanent victory, but lionizing the UAF at every level is the propaganda line, not admitting their shortcomings. Its been over 2 years, they’ve put up a very admirable fight and done a lot of damage to Russia but they’ve suffered a lot of damage as well. It’s a meat grinder for everyone, with minimal to no gains and no end in sight. I am not at all surprised by news of desertions, draft dodging, and generally low morale.
Footage came out of a Ukr Stryker trying to literally run down Rus infantry in an open field because they ran out of ammo, presumably for the RWS. Supposedly there was a crewman hanging out one of the hatches shooting at them too.
Lmao, weren’t Russians using their own line charges to bomb apartment buildings like a year back?
Using your equipment for the role it was designed for? Imagine.
