Can we start just calling it “installing software”? Calling it “sideloading” gives creedance to apples (and other companies) claims that wanting to run whatever software you want to on the small computer you purchased is somehow unusual or unsafe.

Services cost money, not lose it. That is how they work.
I bought a pair of Keen lace up work boots for $320 last April/May. By October I had to do a warranty claim on them because they were falling apart at the seams and leaking like crazy. Super comfy boots and in my experience their customer service has been good, but I’d happily pay a few more bucks to have something that might last a few years.

I’ve been pretty happy with my Proton mail/simple login combo (simple login was bought by proton not that long ago).
In regards to your comments elsewhere in this thread, it can be exhausting at times trying to be perfect in regards to privacy. Just take it one day at a time and even one decision at at time. Just because you gave away info before doesn’t mean that it’s pointless to take one little piece back.
Hopefully that will be on the second round of teriffs i n 3 weeks?
