If a kid has parents that will mistreat them for being gay, they will now be afraid to tell the teacher because they know it won’t be confidential. It’s about limiting the number of adults a kid feels they can trust. I believe, statistically, it makes kids less likely to report abuse linkfedilink

I think it’s that if a kid tells their teacher they’re gay or trans, the teacher has to tell their parents.
