I think when she proposes, actually investigating and trying to hold them accountable is actionable work that if Democrats get enough of a majority could actually work with, rather than another impeachment hearing that will likely be dismissed by the public and stonewalled by the current congress.
Every time the Democrats tried an impeachment and failed, they lose credibility in the public eye.

I agree with you, but this is not what she’s saying. The article title is misleading. What she’s actually saying is she doesn’t think the Democrats have the resources to do anything with an impeachment hearing right now and that Republicans would stonewall so they should spend their limited time and resources on investigations and accountability.

Yep, this is why managing speculative investor expectations is as much a part of managing a modern publicly traded business as actually running the business.

Oh no. Anyway.

This is a really misleading headline. To be frank, what she actually said was she doesn’t think they have the resources to properly entertain an impeachment and that they should spend their limited resources on accountability and investigations, something they had the resources to entertain.
I’m no fan of Harris, but let’s actually be accurate.

You should really be more specific about which Democrats. I understand they are a coalition, but they’re not homogenous, and it’s important to name and shame.
In this case it was Turek and he faced a lot of backlash from progressive Democrats like AOC.

Good news, we’re working on making sure it doesn’t support us!

Our justice system has gone full mask off, it exist to protect capital. There needs to be serious reform to protect the people with consequences for corporatists.

This is just not correct. I understand that you shouldn’t stereotype people based on their beliefs. However, this is not that. This is their belief in an economic system and the machinery it puts forth. This is well studied. Look at Reagan and everything he set forth, he seemed downright reasonable at the time, but has unleashed suffering the likes of which the world hadn’t yet seen.
The reality is a boring centrist as you call it, creates the material conditions for inequality and public mistrust of institutions, which fascists eventually exploit.

I’m not saying it is always intentional. But the very ideals they believe in will do that eventually it has nothing to do with intent and everything to do with the mechanics of neoliberalism.
Conservative describes a set of beliefs and beliefs can be faulty.

Degree, even.

Boring centrists, especially conservative ones, lay the groundwork for fascists by eroding the public sector and services.

Love them, even.

Ooh, I know, my comment was pure unadulterated sarcasm.

I wonder who our representatives will make foot the bill for this one? Surely they won’t just socialize the losses with how well it worked the last dozen times… Right?

You should look up the motte and bailey fallacy.
Respectfully, no I don’t. Because the validity of my claim is not in question because the only relevance it has to my assertion is whether or not I talked to ml folks with that opinion and I’m not digging back through years of DMS to find it for you. So again, take my word for it or don’t. I’m fine if you don’t believe me.
We’ve both wasted enough time and you just litetially called everyone else delusional so that’s a logical stopping point. If you have more I will read it but I will not reply.

I don’t owe you proof of an anecdote. Something clearly felt by the community given the reactions to this post. Again none of this is about you, so you cannot defend it, it if about .ml users in my case and maybe others from everyone else. Regardless you’re asserting that everyone has collective hysteria rather than engaging with the possibility that people hold those opinions.

Your arguments are immaterial to interactions with other people though. You may have a perfectly reasonable position, that’s never what I was talking about and I’m not interested in you moving the goal posts on someone else’s argument.
It’s never good enough. Anything that challenges their narrative is dismissed. It’s true that establishment Democrats have definitely gotten comfortable being Republican-lite, but that is not the entire party and it is shifting a little bit at a time. And people who are jaded or have an agenda want to dismiss it but we are seeing progress in real time.
