Yes there will still be big sell offs I recently got a 16GB n100 from someone selling a batch of around 100. You can set up eBay notifications for saved searches it is getting more competitive getting one for $60 is the absolute best case expect closer to $80+shipping.
You can also check alibaba if you can spend bit more and have some older ddr4 laying around. They have n100 mini PCs with expendable storage and ram and multiple Ethernet ports. you can normally find them if you get the versions that don’t come with any ddr4

Yep, and unless you really need the pi form factor just get a small n100 mini PC at this point. They are pretty much better in every way and are x86 so there’s practically no limit to what you can run on them. I’ve seen n100 16gb mini PCs for as low as $60 on auction sites because some business will buy tons of them then sell them off for cheap when they upgrade.
Want something faster? Look into business small PCs they are about the size of the small ps2 and will have Intel i3s to i7s. I’d just recommend looking for one that is at least the 8th gen Intel if you care about power efficiency. If using eBay search for used auctions and use a bid sniper that uses the official api
I think a lot of what they are doing has been planned for decades but it does feel rushed. All of the war mongering factions are making moves like they won’t be able to do it if they don’t act now. Thankfully a lot of their structures are controlled by incompetent fools and nepo babies

We’re getting to see how bad things get before people change their minds. And people are, it’s slow and there are holdouts as well as people that just do not want good things for anyone besides themselves/their tribe.
I think the global right is pulling all the cards they have to try and pull the world into war and chaos and even as bad as it is it’s not going their way. The more authoritarianism is pushed the more people wake up to their delusions.
In the states you have DSA members actually getting seats, you have people caring about flock and privacy that would have a few years ago brought the story that it’s for their own protection. You have Generals and officials resigning in droves because they refuse to be apart of another forever war. You have a whole generation being aware the the US/Israel colonialism and even things like police violence.
If we as a species are going to build a world that’s built for peaceful coexistence we have to wake up to what is not working. All of the bad things that are happening are cycles and patterns that have been going on for longer than any of us have been alive and I think there’s a good chance we will see old cycles finally break in our life time
It’s not going to burst until they can get as many AI companies to go public as possible then there will be a mass sell off and even then there will still be a lot of money in it. Surveillance capitalism for one is and will be profitable for quite some time for example
At a bare minimum there should be a requirement for redundant systems, Tesla in a cost cutting measure got rid of LiDar and only uses cameras. It’s pretty well documented how cameras can be fooled but they of course did it anyway.

It’s incredibly ironic that China used to have really really bad EVs so they let other brands (mostly Tesla at the time) enter their formerly closed markets to boost competition, low and behold, it worked so well the US has now blocked them because the US is afraid of competition.

An example of something that might be considered “anti-scientific reasoning patterns” I’ve already talked about on my Lemmy account is I don’t exactly trust the corpos behind some vaccines. Am I vaccinated? Yes. Do I believe in vaccine science? Also yes.

And I’d like to be clear, I personally I think the meat and dairy industrial complex is one of the great atrocities of our time. Policing what meat eaters say won’t turn them vegan
