Canada@lemmy.ca•Talk grows that China is routing U.S. Treasury holdings through Canada in order to give the appearance of decoupling from the United States
01·3 days agoI already provided the evidence, you’ll see it also in the numbers. But tankies doing tankie things, including, unfortunately, the permanent insults. I end this discussion.

01·3 days agoIt is useless to pick a few sentences out of reports and then re-interpret them to make them fit for your desired narrative.
This is rubbish. Chinese state-media has been spreading reports of reduced US debt holdings. I provided even one link (that you have ignored).
Here is my original premise for reference …
What kind of satire is this?
Such a discussion is waste of time.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Talk grows that China is routing U.S. Treasury holdings through Canada in order to give the appearance of decoupling from the United States
01·4 days agoChina does … not decouple from its debt purchasing
This is wrong. In February 2026, Chinese regulators have advised financial institutions to curb holdings of U.S. Treasuries due to concern over concentration risk and market volatility …
Officials urged banks to limit purchases of U.S. government bonds and instructed those with high exposure to pare down positions, though the advisory does not apply to state holdings, Bloomberg reported.
Just a few weeks ago, on 17 September, the South China Morning Post - a propaganda media outlet based in Hong Kong under the Chinese Communist Party’s censorship regime - reported that China cuts US Treasury holdings to 18-year low amid global bond sell-off. The SCMP says China has "“ersistent concerns over sustainability of Washington’s finances” and that China “see[s] overall foreign holdings [of U.S. debt] shrink for second consecutive month.”
There never was any evidence for China’s sell-off, but China’s rhetoric haven been pointing into that direction for a long time now.
But of course this is Scotty posting, a notorious Sinophobe, who wouldn’t understand what any of what their posts even mean. Just sees “China + action” and equates it with bad.
I don’t even mind your insults, but you should at least try to not spread fake news.

I am not sure whether I understand this. I just wanted to provide additional context by adding these numbers. One underlying thing here is that China’s official rhetoric differs greatly from what they actually appear to do.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Declassified Report Shows How CIA Resettled Nazis In Canada
0·4 days agoTankies must really be desperate if they post a story that happened half a century ago in another attempt to make Canada look bad. OP is also posting ‘news’ from Chinese state media and other propaganda outlets, but apparently not even there are relevant posts today.

1·1 year agoWhat is nltimes.nl and who is behind it?
The website publishes exclusively sensationalist headlines mostly with content that offers not much more than the headline itself. When you try to access the site, they ask for your age. What kind of ads do they run there?
As far as I could figure out, the outlet appears to be a partnership so there are little reporting requirements, but there are only a couple of employees. This seems to be another clickbait media.

This is satire, right?
