In the sanitarium, Vision didn’t kill Paladin because a combination of the lingering effects of the EMP cage and getting shot with adamantium bullets caused his punch to be weaker than intended. It was intended to kill.
Right now our only clue for who the client is, is that they hacked Paladin’s comms using SWORD encryption protocols.
EDIT: oh, and the fact that they want Vision unharmed.
Ironic, given that DARPA originally envisaged the Internet specifically as a decentralized comms network which would be resilient against these kinds of strikes. But I suppose it’s different in a dictatorship which needs central control.
Pretty sure Christopher Nolan did not, in fact, melt any civilians.
