I really should add a couple of new T-shirt designs, it’s been a while, maybe I’ll make a Konsi shirt to celebrate comic 1000 :D

I did once have a patreon, but it lapsed - literally nobody signed up for it in over a decade. These days, I’d feel a little bad having a regular payment, considering how little content I actually produce.
I don’t need any financial support to keep doing this, I’m lucky enough to not need financial support, and I draw to relax. The absolute best way to “support the comic” is to introduce more people to it, especially on bluesky. https://linktr.ee/ahdok for the social media streams I use.
If you really really want to put financial support towards me, there is a paypal link on the comic site, and also a few t-shirts at the “shop” link at the top - but again, I want to stress that the comic is not dependent on donations in any way.
Bonus Konsi?
Konsi did have a necklace of fireballs for a while. She’s used one of them, but eventually passed it off to Toron, since she has access to AOE magic anyway.
this is what the gauntlets of ogre power are for.
There’s a lot of people here who are invested in the story now, I gotta keep them up to date!
I suppose you can have a bonus Konsi.
It’s not particularly funny, other than as an extension of the current context. I needed to establish this as setup for the conversation I want the characters to have in the next strip.
Ongoing story be rough sometimes.
You still get a bonus Konsi though.
It’s actually a mimic disguised as a trouser press.
Honestly, the system you run for new players should depend on who those players are, their preferences, and comfort levels with related things you can use to judge their preferences. A group of hardcore eurogame boardgamers are going to be a lot more comfortable learning a complex rule system than my in-laws.
I suppose you can have some extra hair
Did someone say “Bonus Konsi”?
Addis explained in an earlier strip - the people making the accusations are not interested in whether or not the accusations are true, they’re interested in manufacturing a scandal.
When people with an agenda are pushing conspiracy theories, there is no test or proof you can administer that will satisfy them. They will just move the goalposts. “She found a magic way to cheat the zone of truth, that’s how awful she is.” “She’s so corrupt she doesn’t consider what she did to be cheating.” “The church cheated for her and she didn’t notice”. “The person casting Zone of Truth is part of the conspiracy.”
Yes. One of the benefits of this is that it makes my visual style rather unique - I often get asked what digital brushes I’m using to get these pencil textures, and the answer is “pencils.” One of the downsides is it means it’s quite slow to make new pictures.
I used to hand-letter, but lettering is a surprisingly slow and taxing job, and I found myself spending a lot of time touching it up digitally, so now I use a font I made from my own handwriting.
Here’s an image showing many of the physical media brands and tools I use. Notes:
Here’s a step-by-step showing how it looks as I go
And, here’s a photo of the pencilwork for this specific comic :D
I am!
Yep.
As best I can find, rooting through old Forgotten Realms lore, the colours of the Tymoran church are normally blue and silver.
For my comics, I made the Tower of Luck use green as it’s main colour for stuff, to mimic the green baize of gambling tables. Gold accents to symbolize wealth - since the Tower of Luck is much more focused on luck and gambling than the good fortune and karma focus that the rest of the faith normally has. It’s my general intention to slip gambling references and symbology into the church whenever the characters are there.
I think I probably forgot to specify during the date, but the promotion there leapfrogged over regular Priestess. She went from Junior priestess to Senior Priestess.
Difficult to get all the little details from campaign events into speech bubble format while also trying to tell a story haha.
Konsi’s the most powerful priestess in the temple (she’s actually more powerful than the High Priestess)
When making ttrpg characters to play, it’s very easy to just make your character “you” if you don’t think about it or plan anything - you’ll naturally revert to how you approach situations without conscious effort - however that means after a while your characters all start to feel the same.
If you want something that feels unique or different to your previous characters, the easiest way is to take some aspect of your personality and greatly over-exaggerate it, and build the character around that - This way you’re still using some of your natural reactions and inclinations, so it’s much easier of a role to inhabit than someone who’s wholly different to you.
