You have a strange use case for extwitter man. Not judging. My only advice, friends will understand you wanting to use something less toxic. I did this with signal, I explained how uncomfortable whatsapp made me and why I am deleting it and where we can stay in touch. Some installed signal just to talk to me. And those who didn’t, well, I guess we weren’t as close and that was fine for me. One person wanted to stay in touch but explained why not signal and with her we are using the encrypted conversation on telegram. See, when people really want to stay in touch, they will.

What people? Your friends or random strangers that you follow? If friends, help them move, you know, if mastodon is too much for them try Bluesky, it’s not the best but at least it’s a good direction. If ranom people, well, just make the jump, you will find other random people elsewhere and you will have much higher chance they are not bots.

Facebook doesnt even know what privacy is. There is a suspicious hole on that spot in their dictionary.
I tried Floccus and Linkwarden. Floccus was better way of handling bookmarks but it was not reliable between my 4 browsers. Linkwarden is something different than what I was used to but I like it, I like lots of space for descriptons and i like how it can preserve content with e.g. screenshot.

Oh I believe them. But I also see that he built a fairly successful company focused on privacy (and security) and despite everything he has done lately they, the company, are listening to users (albeit quite slow) and they have no obligations to investors and that is one of their more important premises. So while I agree that Yen really needs to go, I still like Proton as a whole and I sincerely hope that whoever comes after Yen will be better and not worse than him…

I voted there too 😀

I will wait how the situation at Proton evolves I have recently prolonged so I am not in hurry. Right now nothing changes the fact that most of the services are still e2e and more secure than most alternatives, if that changes I have no problem switching. And I find encouraging that despite Yen being an ass there is actually good amount of employees that consider what they do in Proton their mission and they have passion for it and I hope Andy won’t squash that…

It’s not yet through and probably never will. It still has to go through Senate which it won’t since there were only 21 votes (11 pro vs 10 against). Its a farce and a showcase of (French) politicians laziness

I mean duh, anyone expected something else? 🤮
Interesting. When I first saw the post on 404 I couldn’t quite believe it, but I guess i thought them to be more respectable. But I guess at the end of the day non-sensational articles don’t make money 🤷 for me the truth is somewhere in the middle I guess. I think Proton should consider replacing Andy anyway, but I think it’s doubtful it will happen.

I still see it too. You should update the title. I voted btw…
Logi started to suck a few years ago. I used to use their products for a long time but then they started failing just after warranty periods or they were buggy without fixes. It’s sad that such a good company went to sh… So fast…

I am using Garmin venu 2 with gadgetbridge and I can confidently say the sync got so much better lately, it even integrates now with endurain and auto upload my workouts. The only thing that I think is less then ideal is agps (assisted gps), basically I had to setup cron job that downloads the agps file every day and stores it where gadgetbridge sees it (smb share) and can provide it to the watch on request. Without this it took 15+ minutes to lock gps…
I don’t forget stuff (yet). On the contrary, I remember when I was using my phone, leaving my wallet home, because “i didn’t need it” and then it for some reason didn’t work and it was quite embarrassing. Happened to me more than once, so I ended up carrying my wallet with me anyway… Technology have a weird tendency to stop working at the exactly wrong time! And I say that as a long time developer. 😅
I might be getting old, but I find tapping with just the physical card simple enough that I don’t want to bother with these digital solutions… If some truly private and open solution comes I’d happily use it, but I think hell freezes sooner… 😀
I just deployed tinyauth and it actually supports ldap and it can read also ldap groups. Gonna tinker with it more tomorrow, but so far I like the simplicity a lot.

Thank you, that is not as bad as I expected. 👍

Unless your brain is hallucinating this whole reality 😀
She did not want yet another messenger. People are fed with having to have multiple applications for everything. And she already had telegram along with wa.
