I should have been more specific. Trump received 49.8% of the nationwide popular vote in the 2024 presidential election, compared with Harris’s 48.3%. So only 98.1% of the votes actually mattered… that 1.9% of ‘other’ voters might as well have stayed home and masturbated. So 1/2 of the votes that actually mattered would be 49.05% which Trump exceeded while Harris fell well short.

This isn’t a ‘perfect storm’ which suggests a chance alignment of multiple variables that results in an unexpected outcome. Everyone with even half a brain knew exactly what was going to happen as Trump implemented his policies and raped the USA. This is exactly what he wanted and what over half of the voters voted for. Quit being apologetic.

Are you asking if old findings are reconsidered based on the growth of population? Regardless of the size of the overall population, any study must take into account a large enough population to be statistically relevant. Once that has been achieved, the overall population size doesn’t matter, generally. For instance, studies that talk about the spread of polio and the efficacy of the polio vaccine should stay somewhat reliable. I’m assuming that some of the data on spread talks about different population densities. So, as the overall population size increases there may be more, higher density pockets of population which will result in even more people getting infected, but shouldn’t automatically change the prior findings. That said, other variables can and do change, so there could always be the need for newer studies to quantify the impact of those changes. Maybe climate change and deforestation have some impact on polio and/or it has mutated in some way.

Studies that are very specific about a particular population and its size may well need to be reconsidered as that population changes both in makeup and size.

I personally believe that ‘good science’ is always going to at least consider the impact of population growth/change even if it’s unlikely that it would have much, if any, impact.

Do your music because you find it is something that you enjoy and gives you something you crave, not because you need to be good enough to do concerts and get somebody’s praise. Set your own goals and define your own victory conditions. It sounds like you have some unhappiness now and maybe even a touch of depression and you don’t like it. Give yourself permission to try new things without expectation and grace to change again if it doesn’t float your boat. You know you don’t like you have, so you really don’t have anything to lose.
