Gamers back then were crying about it being unoptimized back then too. There is no care about what the game accomplishes, only that it has to run perfectly smooth on their hardware.
It helps Call of Duty 4 in that their levels were a lot more restricted and didn’t have all the physics and AI calculations that Crysis had to do. Even then, Crysis had better graphics and more advanced effects.
Also, when fleeing Earth, they don’t try to solve issues. They just set up new corporations doing the exact same stuff in other places. When the game presents a problem where taking down a CEO would be one of the best possible outcomes, it isn’t an option. Literally everything you do in the game is maintaining the status-quo of the modern world, despite it being the source of so many issues in the game. You can’t change anything and no one wants to either.
That sounds pretty realistic to me. I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but this counts as a commentary on our social situation. Probably doesn’t make for a compelling game, though.
I have not bought any eggs in about a year or so. The price of food keeps increasing and this is one of the more egregious examples. Sure there’s the bird flu outbreak, but I wouldn’t be surprised if prices are being increased far beyond the actual cost.
