Taiwan has actually an actually good functioning democracy (unlike the US) and good civil liberties. They speak another language, have their own cultural heritage. If China invaded, they would loose their freedom of speech, China would impose on them Mandarin, like they do in Hong Kong, remove free media, introduce pro-CCP propaganda into children’s books, and introduce mass surveillance, just like they did in Hong Kong. Taiwanese enjoy their freedoms, they are quite rich by the global standards (and compared to China), so they wouldn’t benefit much from joining China or being forced into joining China
Not fine with me, not every foreign visitor to India happens to be a Swiss/US citizen enjoying the benefits of living in world’s richest countries. Yet we all get charged the same 5x of the local entry price fee for entering 95% of tourist attractions and 22x the local price when visiting Taj Mahal. And we don’t charge Indians more for entering our tourist attractions by the way
