Maybe try adding the files in 10 TB batches or something. My library is approaching that size, and no issues here. Could be tripping up on a specific file or something. I know Jellyfin can be a little particular about folder hierarchy and naming conventions, too.

It may very well be the case that most American businesses pay by the pound, ton, or bin. I don’t know. I do know that in some cases it’s a fixed cost, up to the size of a bin within a certain time period, anyway.
Sure, but they have stuff to throw away other than food, too, so they’re paying for it regardless. Some places in the US make property owners pay for waste disposal separately, but even then it could be a flat fee so the business wouldn’t gain anything by throwing less stuff away. Some places just include it in property taxes, in which case, again, the business wouldn’t gain anything.

Religion is a well of hope for otherwise hopeless people. It is no surprise that colonized peoples turn to it en masse.
The government could pass a law (GASP!!!) requiring license agreements to be transferable. But capitalists aren’t actually interested in free markets, are they?
Easier & cheaper to just throw it away, so most businesses probably don’t bother. We would need to mandate and/or subsidize this behavior if we wanted people to actually do it.

I’m using a prebuilt docker container that I assume must have come with all the appropriate codecs lined up. If you spun up your own container or installed it directly on your host OS, you may be missing some, I suppose. Without seeing the logs I couldn’t tell you more (not that I’m some kind of self-hosting master, myself), but that seems like a pretty good lead.
