The CEO said they won’t operate in blue states. Texas is turning blue. What’s the plan now?

This kind of post gets made every year.
The general consensus among adults is that they no longer trust having their kids walk onto a stranger’s property, even if it is Halloween. A lower yet still large percentage now drive their kids around instead of walking, and with gas prices being so high, they won’t do that either.
In the end they just feel like it isn’t safe anymore.

661·8 days agoSpeed is not a good quantifier for industry success. Speed to market might get you some initial customers, but speed alone won’t keep them. If your product is junky, slow, and insecure you are going to lose those customers you had, and potentially open yourself up to lawsuits in the process.
The things that matter more to long term success and sustainability are all the things AI is not.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that uTorrent is a corporate spyware. It gathers your data without your consent. qBittorrent has no ads and gathers no data.English
2·9 days agoMy torrent client is running in docker on my NAS, so running it outside of docker is a no-go. I switched back to my old setup of using a docker container that combines both qbittorrent and openvpn in the same container. Smooth sailing with no hitches at all. I can’t share the VPN across containers anymore, but qbittorrent was the only container that actually needed it.
Maybe I’ll get it working one day. Today is just not that day.

3·9 days agoDeluge is awesome but it uses more resources than other alternatives. As another poster mentioned it also struggles with torrents with many files.

4·9 days agoThis was the setup I had recently, but recent versions of gluetun just couldn’t maintain a connection. I tried with three different VPN providers and they all dropped connection within 12 hours.

One of my college professors did this.
“For 2 points, draw anything on the top of your test next to your name.”
He’s the only professor that I actually learned something from and was worth the money.

AssholeDesign@lemmy.world•The way this slider shows percentagesEnglish
0·4 months agoYou are really picking at straws here to justify being mad. Most storefronts, Steam included, take 30%. Humble is also pretty transparent about how the money is divided up. When you attempt to adjust the Humble slider you will notice that part of the bar is grey. This is the fixed minimum cut that Humble has to take for operating expenses.
Edit: typo

0·4 months agoThese aren’t percents of a total - they are ratios relative to each other.
For simplicity let’s say teach bar has a Min of 0 and a Max of 100. NOTE that there are no units. Bar 1 is set to 100, bar 2 is set to 70, and bar 3 is set to 0. This is absolutely valid. What this means is “for every 100 units sent to 1, send 70 units to 2 and 0 units to 3”. In this case you can assign currency as the units. “For every dollar sent to 1, send 70 cents to 2 and 0 cents to 3”.

I thought the same thing. There was a graph for ray tracing but nothing else about the GPUs. This looks to be selling an idea, not an actual product.
