  • 28 day old account that’s posting hourly. I won’t even bother taking the bait.

Other people have already explained why you’re wrong in both the threads. If you don’t get it, you don’t get it. Might I suggest reading some marine science methodology instead of arguing with Canadians about the economic crisis they’re facing. Unless you’re getting paid well for it, I suppose.

  • I wasn’t well received when I spoke English (sadly with a North American accent) and I wasn’t received any better when I switched to French with a French accent 🙂

This is such a Quebec experience, lol.

Montreal is a lot more Anglo-friendly these days, but there is still friction with the rest of the local communities from the surrounding cities/towns because a lot of the newer people moving to Montreal don’t really try to learn French. When I spoke French there (with an Ontario accent) they were surprisingly appreciative of it.

Quebec City I had the same experience as you though. The Belgium comparison is apt.

Thank you for sharing your experience! As a US/CAD dual citizen, I’ve always been more pulled to my Canadian side, and I love hearing other people speak about their experiences here.

  • Get something called a “fabric comb”. It’s what my grandparents and great grandparents used to depill all their clothes, including delicate wool and cashmere, and that’s what I stand by. Cheap, come in different sizes, tooth ranges, and no need to change batteries. Hard to enshittify that.

Find an YouTube video to show you how to comb different grains/types of cloth with it. I was taught by my grandma, but it’s pretty easy once you know what you’re doing.
