Nah, honestly, I agree. No sarcasm or anything. I’ve seen a lot of you recently, going around and calling out mods and admins for their bad takes. I think this is a great service to the rest of us who don’t have the time and inclination to do so.

It is not your responsibility to do so, but so long as you are doing it, I appreciate it. I’m sure many others do as well. Community leaders need to be held to a high standard and in order for that to happen someone has to check them about it. We aren’t well organized here and we don’t have a method for that beyond people just like you crawling the mod logs and making noise where it’s warranted.

The assignment is fundamentally flawed.

The internet is a different place than it used to be. These days every third person you see might tell you the California fires are caused by having too many black folks in the movies and be completely sure of themselves that this is a fact. It is no longer safe to assume sarcasm when you see someone say something ridiculous.

And if you just laugh and agree with it (sarcastically) or ignore it, then you’re going to get new people seeing this for the first time, not getting that it’s sarcasm, seeing it get agreed with or at least not refuted, and now you have two people that believe this mess. Rinse and repeat. 4chan is basically a case study for this sort of thing.

Double checked my sources; “raging magat” may be a mischaracterization and I retract that. But they are willingly going along with it, no pressure from the label and are trying to say their songs were never gay in any way. He also admits he’s made a few more million dollars from YMCA since it’s become a conservative talking piece and used in rallies.

Actually they are, none of the original members are still in it except one guy who became a raging magat and replacements that he has picked.

Once the rule of law collapses there is less than nothing remaining to protect their necks. If we do in fact end up in some Mad Max hellscape I can almost guarantee you that the likes of Trump and Musk wouldn’t survive to see it. Not only because angry citizens freshly unbound from the rule of law will know who is responsible for their situation, but also simply because if you drop an oligarch they drop a lot of loot. Without the police and prison system to back them up, that makes them an easy mark.
