8 days agoPerhaps I should clarify. I am a machine learning researcher. In the scientific literature there is no basis for claims of artificial general intelligence. The current boom of AI is almost entirely spurred by the transformer model which is essentially a very fancy autocomplete. These models don’t exhibit intelligence as we understand it, nor are they capable of generalization. There are simply no machine learning models or frameworks currently in existence or even theorized that would be able to create and intelligent machine capable of meeting our definitions of AGI.
