Redux redux?

I even stopped redeeming the free games for the Legacy Game Store from Amazon Prime, they all suck.

What does this mean?

With discounts I was able to price one of Lenovo’s at CAD 7K (USD 5K). I haven’t had a new laptop in 9 years, with the last being a $2K Yoga in 2017.

I play games, home lab, and really want to take a deeper dive in to local LLM’s. If it were to last me 9 years again, I could maybe reason through it as a huge treat to myself. It’s tempting but in the end I can never justify pulling the trigger.

But I also want to main Linux. Gaming on ARM is progressing thanks to FEX but not a guarantee, and as evidenced by the write up there are a lot of workarounds to get Linux going. I’d worry that too much time would be spent tinkering with just getting/keeping the laptop running rather than doing the stuff that I want on it.

I haven’t touched them in years, but I adored them all.

Pray tell, what script?

I wanted to like Trillium, and was even willing to forgoe the database style back-end… But it can’t even handle markdown style notes and previews as graciously as Obsidian.

Windows on ARM with Snapdragon processors is a regular thing right now. I don’t know how well they are selling or how well they perform, but it is definitely past Windows RT 2.0 already. I am pretty sure they are doing x86 comparability.

We have a small one, and we’re very lucky to have been able to pull it together as our families are distant.

It took some dedicated effort to connect with other parents during the daycare phase, which has paid off in the kindergarten phase. Our daycare had a playground close to it that many kids / parents would frequent after daycare ended. I’d pick my higher social battery days and then make small talk.

Talk about the kids, talk about the daycare, then talk about what other activities you’re planning for the kid(s) (gymnastics, tee ball, swimming, w/e) and see if other parents have interest in their kids doing the same. Having activities where the children see the same faces is great for their engagement - and great for you seeing the same parents.

This has turned in to a few close parent friends that have been able to help in a pinch.
