0·2 days agoI havent tried to install myself but with wine I can’t see a reason why not.
Might have to tinker a little as there is no specific guide for it; Heroic launcher has a way to run an installer before allowing you to pick the launch executable.
I have gotten sims 1 and 4 working on my system in a similar way.
Better archive the past before enshitification rears its ugly head.

I was however unable to install Appearance Menu Mod because of a weird lag when entering cars. Its the only mod that gave me problems but the occurance of this bug seems pretty rare depending on your pc.
If you are interested i have a mod list that addresses about everything you mentioned.

0·6 days agoI never knew it was from the office but I wouldn’t know how to use it beyond s contextual reference to sex. A serious setting including sex jokes is either a niche industry or a red flag.

My most advanced ideas would fall under psychology. Lately i have been sinking time in underlying patterns within molecules, so chemistry. I have done amateur geology and astronomy, while purposely avoiding known materials about those subjects. I very frequently find myself thinking about physics and philosophy.
I have started to work on a scifi novel because i got frustrated with to much technobabel and employing fictional alien design philosophy aids in overcoming some of my own human cultural scientific biases. It also forces me to come up with multiple perspectives for the same Phenomena, for different species.
I think that will be the best medium because it wal also not appear like i am blatantly overriding scientific consensus. I am not a science denier, i just like to understand things for myself (school was unsatisfactory, they gave me passing marks but i often felt like what they explained made not enough sense)
Me, an autistic “independent scientist”: Literally making names up as a need for terminology emerges.
My interest and research philosophy is often so specific and build from physical own observations that i frequently cant find the standardized interpretations in known science even though i know they must exist.
Before anyone fights me over it (some have) I am doing this for my own growth and understanding. I don’t require it to be compatible with standardized knowledge and i have no specific goal other then growing my perspective and therefor general wisdom.

Negative for some yes but what i see is a net positive.
To the untrained Ai appears like a super cheap shortcut to make something that looks good at a glance. You know the same glance a shareholder may take at the tripple A game in development.
Its not hard to see where that is going. Tripple A is already full off enshitification, add ai slop and the result will be one stink of an overpriced mess after the other.
Actually non ironically wonderful, i hope they choke on their own fucking budget.
In the mean time actually passionate artists will also be using these tools, not as a cheap shortcut but as a way to get closer to their inherent perfectionism. To deliver what they could never afford to create before.

Personally i love using fantasy names for my science. Sufficient advanced technology is magic but In earnest we should come up with something more constructive to name these things.

You know how the pieces actually move do you? You didn’t just remember a pattern and actually know the narrative logic behind it right? No way would someone understand scenarios like en passant and castling if they didn’t.

I had an air-fryer long before i started to put steak in it, i just assumed it couldn’t come close to doing it myself in a pan… Till we tried it after an exhausting day. Never went back.
I would also still highly recommend finishing it off in a pan but overal the process is much easier and the steaks reliably good.
I have been trying to apply the pattern behind this chess opening but now i am stuck in this position. What is my best move?

0·11 days agoLol, This implies that Chinese citizens somehow have a say in what their government elite desires. I don’t think they are much different then anyone else.
If it makes you feel better the US puts just as much energy into manipulating other countries as other countries do into them. And may i remind you of the chat control Europe routinely tries to sneak in a ban encryption for all its citizens without them noticing. my original comment addressed “global adversaries”, i only mentioned china replying to a comment specify about china. So not racist, I am anti any centralized power structure because power always corrupts.
The fact is that governments have always (amongst other things) been rooted in a centralized resource and population control. The big problem as i would call it is that the emergent complexity of global politics makes the dynamics so complex not a single person, not even a president is capable of knowing more then the micro-environment they exist within. This is precisely why states feel a need to create extensive bureaucracies and specialized agencies which historically have a tendency to evolve into centralized powered structures themselves and power always corrupts.
No nations, No borders, No gods, No masters
Its pure speculation but i suspect china may have purposely pushed for the tiktok is spyware narrative and fueled the china bad bandwagon themselves.
They made it a real privacy nightmare but also by made sure western leaders know it is a privacy nightmare.
Something i noted is that European parlement and many individual European govs have in recent years put up laws banning tiktok for gov officials and all staff but not the general public/citizens.
All i figured out for certain is that it came bundled with itunes.
