British Columbia@lemmy.ca•B.C. quietly changes MSP two days after election was called, affecting 8,500 chronic illness patients
2·15 days agoAs bad as it sounds, it also seems like a system easily abused by corporations who provide these “health services” “for free” (think Telus telehealth or what’s it called etc) and it may be a terrible and poorly communicated attempt to crack down on it, as in… without providing a real alternative solution to those affected. The article rehashes stuff from their own past article and doesn’t really dig into anything too deep, GN are capable of doing better investigation than this lol
Also can’t easily find any genuine information about Chek ownership, but their affiliation with YesTV is worrying and a red flag 🤔

11·18 days agoTitle is bait, just a regular distributor, like where you would be expected to buy pc parts yourself around wherever you live.
Edit: not saying they aren’t scummy, don’t know anything about them myself but the body of the article shows they clearly chose this as a title instead for a reason

4·18 days agoFunny enough, I have noticed some big sites have reversed course on what loads with out JavaScript.
e.g. Amazon is the biggest one I noticed, obvious reasons for them, somewhat functional without JavaScript running (go back a month or so and you couldn’t do shit), though you still have to enable js to go through pictures etc. Not getting any more of my money, but it was definitely funny to see

Canada@lemmy.ca•When it comes to the cars we drive, Canadians would rather be a little more European
3·19 days agoThe NA EV4 is a sedan, the European one is a hatchback if I’m not mistaken? Still that K4 looks sooo much better

3·19 days agoAnd I’m disappointed that they didn’t put an electric motor and battery in it. I absolutely agree with you, it looks great and the damn EV4 looks like shit in comparison (not from all angles but yea…)

3·19 days agoWould be nice, but that’s a pipe dream for when Greens fight NDP for power and still probably end working together, so not this timeline.
I walk wherever I can, hell if I’m bored enough I’ll walk for 2-3 hours to a shop and take a bus back, but the current state of transport and footpaths seriously limits my options and safety. That being said, there are times where I just wanna drive, enjoy music without something uncomfortable stuck in my ear or pressing on my ears, and go wherever I want. And I sure as fuck don’t think spending anything over 20k is worth that freedom unless I expect it to last 20 years minimum.

Canada@lemmy.ca•When it comes to the cars we drive, Canadians would rather be a little more European
8·19 days agoI’d rather drive a decent size hatchback (not “hot hatch”) or an estate/combo/touring/stationwagon/wtfyouwannacallit over any SUV.
An A5 (hatchback/sportback) and Laguna hatchback were the two most convenient cars I’ve driven before coming to Canada and I couldn’t find a reasonably priced alternative, also they happened to be the most fuel efficient at the time despite their engines sizes, thanks to the type of fuel (it wouldn’t be the case now, so you know exactly what I’m talking about).
I talked to a guy like you a while back, and then he also mentioned he used “Brave” and he was surprised when I mentioned the awful things behind it. So perhaps re-evaluating your suggestions and own choices is the first step?

First heard of it in connection to food poisoning and deaths. Never tried it, never will
