This is kind of meta, I guess, I didn’t see anything saying that wasn’t allowed.

Hello. I’m just checking to see how many socialists are alive on this side of Lemmy (not hexbear or lemmygrad). I don’t see many comments or posts except for ones from Usg+eussz* or Unequal Exchange.

All of Lemmy seems dead if you’re used to the traffic on corporate social media.

Also, people tend not to respond to “is anybody here” posts on Lemmy. You can already tell if anyone is here by looking at the post history and the sidebar:

lol of couirse its dead. The average person doesnt give a fuck about socialism OR lemmy. And then the average socialist doeosnt give a fuck about socialism either.

And them to top it all off the socialists who actually do give a fuck about socialism like the Naxalites, the FARCs , thhe Filippino Maoists, and the PFLP theyre being bombed out snd slaughtered to the point that they barely have acces to something like Lemmy.

Its dead cause … it just has to be based on what Ive proven lol.

        We gotta change this.

Class struggle isn’t dead. It’s just that the people fighting don’t look like socialists.

In the core, imperialism has created a labor aristocracy, but it’s shrinking as the need for ever higher profits causes the bourgeoisie of the global North to increase the exploitation of workers in the core. They are unsustainably cannibalizing the group that actually consumes most of the commodities produced by the global imperialist system which will lead to a global crisis of overproduction. We’re heading unstoppably into this crisis, it’s just that the ideas haven’t caught up. Workers in the core are, very slowly, waking up from their treat-induced class-coma. Western leftists are dead, but will come back.

In the periphery, the fight is against neocolonialism is the primary concern for workers and the fight against their own bourgeoisie is secondary or has to be paused, like in Iran. Communists might not be that common, but people willing to fight colonialism are common all throughout the global South.
