Yeah. The MC is a jackass but he does learn a bit over the series and there’s some depth to the thoughts on how little would react to being able to come back from dying repeatedly (and the first “training scenario”) under most scenarios.
I enjoy that he’s just some shit kicker at the beginning and really has learned over the series (though there’s like 18 books now so it’s not hard to imagine). Though he is quite a Gary Sue.
