The comments on this post are cringe. There was only a single person who took the “Trust but Verify” approach, and everyone else just spewed hate. Until people stop with the outrage culture allowing things to capture their attention, this kind of crap isn’t going to stop.

It’s almost like both sides of the fence are susceptible to lies and propaganda.

It’s an ironic picture at the very least, but how do we know they actually support Trump and are not just wearing the shirt as a sort of “armor” in an ineffective attempt to not be targeted (like why some people who don’t have significant thoughts about the police will put a “back the blue” bumper sticker on their car to try to avoid speeding tickets)?

My coworker did that to his Facebook profile. He’s originally from Puerto Rico but he’s still a bit worried so he put Trump stuff all over his profile. I tried to tell him that he’s more than likely safe, but he rightfully doesn’t trust that.

He knows they aren’t going to check their Facebook page while detaining them right?

Well he’s a US citizen if he’s from PR so how could they deport him? If they’re going to deport all latinos I think people are going to riot.

None of us are safe. Trump cited Operation Wetback as a model for his ethnic clensing, and they deported A LOT of American citizens with that round of ethnic clensing.

That’s pretty much what I tried to explain, but his concern is that they will not pay as much attention to details and just go after brown people. I don’t exactly blame him for thinking that :/

And he has a valid right to be concerned. Us vs them mentality doesn’t think about nuance. Especially when the “them” is “Mexican” and when “Mexican” is anyone that has slightly darker skin, or speaks with a slight Spanish accent.

Or that it isn’t a shitty work shirt they found at a thirty shop and thought it was funny.

Although being part Mexican and knowing supporters of Trump will get caught up is going to be a reality is still funny.

Let people fuck up and experience the repercussions of their actions. If they don’t they’ll never realize why they were wrong.

Also, who says they aren’t also the oppressor in their own controlled world? People don’t have to be politically powerful to be an oppressor.
