An open-source project called Xodus Nexus is bringing Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass games to Linux, including the Steam Deck. Unlike Xbox Cloud Gaming, this launcher downloads and runs games locally using a modified Wine/Proton runtime. Users do not need Windows installed, although a Microsoft account and a valid game purchase or subscription are required.

The launcher builds on the existing Xodus project, which aims to make Xbox PC games compatible with Linux. Xodus handles Microsoft account authentication, game licenses and package downloads, while its custom runtime provides compatibility with Microsoft’s Xbox gaming services. The Nexus launcher adds a graphical interface for browsing games, managing installations and launching supported titles.

It’s a slop bridge to play your slop games through the slop service on a different slop OS than the original slop OS that the slop service is actually made for.
