What? No. Nothing like radio. In radio you need expensive licenses to broadcast on either AM or FM radio. You need FCC regulation. You’re expected to be using high grade equipment to capture broadcast quality audio.

Instead, this is just a guy with a cellphone, broadcasting live on the internet running around setting fires.

They are running around setting shit on fire, why care about a broadcast license?

A phone is too leaky opsec wise and will be what causes them to be caught. Where as radio leaves no footprints behind.

My point is, in order to get on radio airwaves you need a license. Otherwise how are you going to be on the air in the first place? That’s why radio is ruled out.

Nope, you just need a transmitter.

The point of broadcast licenses is effectively a government guarantee that no one else is suppose to be on that frequency. It doesn’t actually stop you from being on that frequency. If someone is, you can complain to the authority and they will find the rectify the issue.

I have accidentally blocked 3G mobile phones in a very specific part of Australia because I was broadcasting in the wrong section of the 900mhz spectrum.
