This kind of unmanned undersea vehicle is possibly the most geopolitically relevant unmanned vehicle type on earth? Why? Because Iran is capable in the littoral environment of the Strait Of Hormuz and elsewhere in terms of extending power on the surface of the water, so are groups in conflict on the Red Sea but with much more capable surveillance and combat assets lurking somewhere in the region in contact with a network of these the power balance in these conflicts is radically shifted in favor of the blue water navy over the littoral actors until sophisticated responses are found that can asymmetric forces can use to regain the capability to deny maneuver for underwater strike or cargo assets.
