• The feds could remove the counter tariffs tomorrow and I’d still not buy American unless I literally have no alternative and even then, I’ll question whether I really need the thing or not.

    I was already focusing on local products when possible. And any food product made locally was already miles kilometers above US garbage in quality. Some things, like network gear, have little options because we let our innovators go to shit decades ago, but with the US brain dump, we could grow things like that again.

    Other things just simply don’t need a 1:1 alternative. Sure I can’t really find non-fash oranges right now, but I can also just eat something else.
    Like I’ll have a cranberry mimosa over some Florida-fash-OJ one any day.
