Discussion questions:
What video games have you played recently?
and
What are your favorite video game genres?
Question of the week:
What games of 2025 are you enjoying right now, if any?
and
What do you think of the recent Nintendo Direct? And the upcoming one on April 2nd? And, once the Direct airs, what did you think of it? (Last question is for when it airs in the future.)
Haven’t played anything for the last week+ because I recently moved out. Fuck my previous pos landlord.
I think the Direct was pretty good game-wise, but fuck Nintendo too. Every single game upgrade is paid and they are raising the price of first-party games. Their games here in Brasil is already too expensive, this is gonna become interely inviable here. I can only hope people find ways to jailbrake it as soon as possible after it launches.
FarCry2 and SpecOps: The Line
I got Victoria 3 after that reddit post appeared asking why the petite bourgeoisie become so racist during times of turmoil. After watching a couple of tutorials, I think I’ve gotten a grasp of the game. Just replaying the Sweden tutorial until I make it to the end, aiming for small achievements here and there to set a small goal.
I have to stop playing a I stayed up all night playing on Sunday - noticed it was 7am and had to go to work…
Otherwise my wife and I are almost done with our second playthrough of Baldurs Gate 3. We really sped through after taking months to finish our first. Probably gonna do a third once the new patch comes out.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a godsend. Good taste.
Recently got 8 or so games in the last sale, but I’m incredibly busy with school and doing “more useful stuff” like reading theory. But I really want to get started on Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, Citizen Sleeper or Disco Elysium… As for genres I’m not picky, but I love when there’s lessons to be learnt in a game (I’m one of those people yes). That and Yakuza series lol
Hope you enjoy each and every one of them.
Thanks, hope you are well too :)
I haven’t played any games recently due to school, but once I am off/during Spring term I hope to get back into playing Fields of Mistria and other games I got on my steam deck like Dead Rising. I am also looking forward to playing REPO. I do not know how to determine my favourite genres because I am fairly eclectic.
I liked the most recent direct but I will say that most of the games did not interest me, which makes sense, so I am looking forward to the next one. I am excited for Pokemon legends ZA, Witchbrook, Story of Seasons, and Tomodachi life 2. Tomodachi life was a big part of my childhood and I am looking forward to playing it again with better graphics and hopefully gay marriage, I really hated having to make one of the miis the opposite gender just so they could get together.
Oh, I’ve heard of REPO but the analog horror aspect might be offputting to me.
I do not know much about analog horror. It seems similar to Lethal Company but even more comedic due to the cartoony graphics and eye programming. I just think it’ll be nice to play with friends, especially no mic.
could be 'ight
help me i’ve been playing vintage story for a long time i am addicted help
Super hyped for the new raids in FFXIV. I really want to go in as Black Mage but I’m not sure if I’ll be doing well enough to prog with it.
I’ve also been playing Octopath Traveler on the side. The burst system makes the turn based combat far more engaging to me for some reason.
I’m not playing any 2025 games, in fact the only game I even know that released this year is the new Assassin’s Creed, and I quit that series a long time ago.
I don’t care for nintendo games, so all I know it’s that there has been a new metroid announced.
I should restart FFXIV again.
Been replaying some Azur Lane lately.
Since they have so many whales I would appreciate more free features, ngl.
noice
I’m currently playing Avowed, which does not deserve the hate it got - it’s really fun. Also picked up Inzoi.
Yeah, I have a good feeling about playing Avowed, but for now, I’ll play Rise of the Ronin.
I’m really looking forward to Rhythm heaven groove! It’s the only game that caught my attention and I’m glad that the series got another entry after the last one on 3ds a lifetime ago.
Good luck with Temtem and eventually Rhythm Heaven Groove.
I’ve been bouncing between games a lot the last few months trying to find something to hyperfocus on.
I tried Going Medieval for a bit. Its a medieval rimworld clone in 3d. Its ok but too easy and needs a lot of fleshing out.
I played some Delta V Rings of Saturn. Its a 2d top down asteroid mining game. Sounds kinda lame but its pretty good. The physics are done really well. (No friction 100% preservation of inertia) On the one hand it is really calm and peaceful and low stress… until you are trying to catch a beacon that is spinning and every time you fail to get it through your cargo bay doors you add more velocity to it and then the next thing you know you are screaming through the asteroid belt dodging giant hunks of ice where its just a matter of time before you crash.
The story is pretty thin to non existent so I got bored. Its one of those games where the grind is the game and the loop does end up getting a bit dull.Star Wars Episode 1 Racer is a game my childhood self loved and I would vouch for anyone playing that game. It really is great.
Been playing with new God of war
God of War or God of War Ragnarök, to be exact?
@Makan Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Best purchase I’ve made this year.
Played thru it on launch, strong 9/10.
Only downer was I wish the combat system was just a bit better, it was too easy to cheese.
I also wish I waited till the hardcore mode was out, it would have been nice to play it with less UI, no map position, no fast travel.
@ghost_of_faso3 yeah, after you learn master strike you can just spam it
I loved the first one. I’ve had the second one installed fpr almost 2 months but for some reason I just haven’t felt like playing it yet.
I’ve heard absolutely great things about this immersive sim and what I hear is what I love about immersive sims. I might get Atomfall though.
Been really deep in Aneurism IV. Still play a bit of Helldivers 2 and I started renting a Vintage Story swever
A game called Aneurism IV. Huh. Fancy that.
I have yet to play Helldivers 2.
For the record:
I’m still playing Dynasty Warriors Origins, but will probably move on to focusing on Silent Hill 2 Remake soon.
I plan to play Rise of the Ronin next.
