All I had to see was the country name to be hooked, but the CARNATION too?! I’m so excited!
Canadian cosmonaut desperate for comrades in the worst province.
Yes, the dogs are also communists.
All I had to see was the country name to be hooked, but the CARNATION too?! I’m so excited!
Britain, honey, nobody wants you like that! You are not worth the effort!
Again another subtle comparison between Russia and Nazi Fucking Germany. I can’t with these people.
Finland really is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They have people believing they’re the sweetest, most tolerant and happy country ever, yet they seemed to have never let go of their fascist past. Literally celebrating a violent racist… cool.
I think it might be due to the fact that your comment implies Russia carved up eastern Ukraine which is not what is happening. That places Russia’s role in the war as the same as the US. I’m sure that’s not what you meant considering the rest of your comment is about the logic of the resource extraction, in that it’s not possible due to the area with said resources is under Russian control/protection. Correct me if I’m wrong, though.
I’m sure this will go over well with the Ukrainian populace. I have no doubts they’d be thrilled to allow the US to carve up their country.
Friendly fire?
Greatest country in the world! Love living here.
Also I checked out the page for the DPRK and the main issue to “Avoid All Travel” (red) is because there is no Canadian consulate, but there is a Swedish one which I was not expecting. If you are Canadian and do travel to the DPRK you have got to go to the Swedish embassy. They also talk about surveillance and food shortages.
Here is the page for china: https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/china
They literally cite the Uyghur lies. Wow.

Negotiations require direct contacts. But Mr Trump is in effect starting to normalise relations with Russia without obtaining tangible concessions. Indeed, Mr Putin’s spokesman said talks had to involve more than the cessation of fighting; it was necessary to “address the root causes of the conflict”, which in Kremlin-speak means absorbing Ukraine into a Russian sphere of influence.
I hate the Economist so much. Also, I thought they’d love Trump since he’s all about the economy. Strange world we live in.
This article is very annoying to read, Zelensky needs to stop posturing himself as some peace loving leader and Putin as some psycho sadist. Peace talks were called for incredibly early, yet Zelenskyy refused and decided to keep fighting. His idea of a “lasting peace” is a Russia shaped crater in the earth.
This is what it looks like on my Google maps:
This is super fucked up. I don’t care that it’s in parentheses, the fact that it’s even there is incredibly telling.
Why are they so surprised that Russia is building its military when it is actively at war. How is that concerning? That’s what happens.
Also, all this fear mongering around Russia pushing past Ukraine into the rest of Europe is hilarious because I highly doubt that will ever happen. Once the war is over and Russia doesn’t do that, what will European leaders do? How will they justify everything they’ve done? People are so scared, and when they realize their fears were unfounded, what then?
Absolutely thrilled that Portugal is primarily werewolves.
small-government revolutionaries
Sounds like an oxymoron.
I made this for us :)
As a Canadian who has never lived in Quebec, I do low key have a bit of a chip on my shoulder regarding French but only because it was completely useless to me outside of French class. It was only mandatory from grade six to grade nine, after that it was optional. Unless you live in Quebec or interact with a lot of French stuff it just doesn’t stick, and that sucks because knowing a second language is a very good thing!
I wish French was more useful to me but it just hasn’t been. Maybe it’s just the way it is taught too because it was only usable in that one classroom (and it also felt like a chore). Maybe the governments could’ve done a better job at integrating multiple languages into our lives besides translations on products.
Also, while it may be off topic, but our Indigenous languages deserve the same respect and recognition.
That would be a depressing outcome. I do wonder what Ukrainians think about this whole thing, including our comrades…
The age discrepancy is a bit annoying. In that the younger people (around my age) prefer a “Western model” (if the translation is correct in the second article). But that Western model is trying to subjugate them, I do wonder where this perspective comes from. Maybe the current government is just not doing enough to court the younger generations, maybe it also has to do with the education system (depends on how the curriculum is created and taught) and interactions with the west (social media, NGOs, etc.). I am genuinely curious, I know Russia is definitely not a perfect country nor is it socialist, but I have to wonder where this perspective from younger people comes from.
