Why must there be special places, devided by sexual orientation and skin color? Are non-white/non straight people less smart so they need special slots? How is that “equality”?

It guarantees a slot regardless of prejudice since you cannot check bias at the selection level. Instead you create a reserve to guarantee certain people who have a harder time reaching this goal - genuinely get considered.
They would be marginalized and overlooked purely through selection bias along with odds. Most colored folks have harder odds of ever even making it to college. Money, support structures, and other variables are hugely different. The same game, different difficulties.
That’s why collegiate schools work as an interview most times - it is to understand your struggle. It is the time to tell your tale, sell yourself, elaborate and intrigue. That’s why your friend failed.

I’m talking about present day, not about someone’s forefathers. Today people are separated and judged based on their skin color and their preferred sexual partners. If it wasn’t right 100 years ago, I don’t see how it is OK now.
They are being separated by beinng accepted into the same school? Where they all earned their spot. They are judged on their merits, not their color. They are categorized in the sheet by their skin in order to circumvent bias, by reserving slots for all races. Why is it wrong that white people get a dedicated slot in a college as well as people of color?
It isnt, you’re just mad that most college applicants are white and have the highest enrollment rate. So competition is actually competitive, rather than just being accepted over the black ones.

But the second the culture shifts, so does their “very serious commitment” to ESG/DEI/whatever.
And don’t get me started how the rainbow marketing is non-existant in countries without widespread acceptance of LGBT people, which you’d think would be a crucial piece of their activity if their goal was actually to spread an ideology, right? (By contrast, think how MAGA-like movements exist in even the most progressive countries, and they push on regardless.) But this supposed “LGBT mafia” doesn’t push at all, they’re reactive to the environment and they shift gears the second it becomes a perceived liability: Musk, Zuckerberg, all of Big Tech and other supposed global wokeness spreaders, they all pivoted away from performative progressivism the second they realized it wouldn’t harm their profits.

In principle nothing bad about presenting both sides. But he definitely needs to be more specific on what that means exactly.
Yes there is: Paradox of tolerance - Wikipedia. Fascist speech is fascist recruitment using lies. If you tolerate intolerant speech, soon you will no longer have tolerance. So if you want tolerance you must not tolerate speech that is meant to increase intolerance.
What it will mean in practice is that every objective fact has to be balanced with a right wing talking point.

Just need enough people to keep themselves unlynched and heinously wealthy. So many once at least moderately intelligent people use AI and are actively making themselves dumber as a result.
