The cooperation agreement places an emphasis on defense technology and energy security. Under the new terms, Ukraine will expand its access to Finnish satellite capabilities through direct collaboration with telecommunications technology giant Nokia and satellite provider ICEYE.

…

Earlier this month, ICEYE and Nokia announced a partnership to develop secure, sovereign and high-performance broadband low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications systems for governments, supporting missions from defense and border security to emergency services and disaster response. Built on trusted European technology, the jointly developed satellite communications systems will give nations ownership and control of satellites, ground segment and terminals.

One thing this Russian asset is accomplishing is destroying the US alliances and its ability to project power across the world.

Grifting their people and the rest of the world. This is the only market with a steep growth.

Are they grifting the right? Yes. So it’s in a bubble.

Is their effort to grift getting more? Yes. So it’s inflation of the grift.

Are they putting millions of Americans in debt because of their shameless grifting? Yes.

So what you are saying seems to be true.

As much as I am all for helping out Ukraine…can we not do this again with private companies? These kinds of technologies should not be in the hands of civilians who answer to shareholders, as opposed to the public.

That’s half the point of what they’re proposing.

They’re saying they’ll build the satellites and ground stations, but sell them to governments. It’ll be the Ukrainians operating this system, and there will probably be other copies of the system owned and run by other governments

Kind of agree. That said well regulated capitalism is the way forward. Without regulation you get the pedo states of america.without capitalism you get authoritarianism or oligarchy.

Ew. No. Oligarchy is the end point of Capitalism, and authoritarianism is how it’s maintained. You’re talking about the same end of the spectrum as if it’s the opposite.

With regulation eventually leads to without regulation, which inevitably leads to the pedo states of America, authoritarianism and oligarchy. It’s a smooth line in that direction…with Capitalism as the driving mechanism.
