I played Arcanum so much. Definitely better in turn based mode.
Amazing game.
If you get the chance then make yourself a Lunk with no intelligence. It’s almost a different game. The main story plays out with the main characters moving it along out of pity for you.

Even though it is at times emotionally devastating it also - bizarrely - manages to be incredibly hopeful even amidst its nihilism.
It’s a wonderful, wonderful game.
I want to go back to it.
