Of course, as the article states, that does not dictate how they will vote. A lot of folks could be forcefully held down while Steven Miller shits on them, and still vote for Trump afterwards.

It seems, though, that low-information voters feel it in their wallets and their everyday life. To hell with what they know about policy. Eating less goes further.

This almost feels like “People who don’t watch ESPN are less likely to be consistent when pulling for sports teams”. You don’t need to be an “ESPN watcher” to know that paying for gas and groceries is expensive and these people presumably know who is president right now.

That makes the quote “The less Trump voters know about politics, the likelier they are to vote for Democrats” in the article only really apply to this current situation where 1) a republican is president and 2) gas and groceries are relatively more expensive. If either of those things weren’t true, I’m not sure this poll would come to the same results. People vote for the other party when it’s harder to pay for things. Hell, trump is also trying to use the same playbook as Harris during her campaign: “Things are fine actually, the economy is great, more oil is coming through the Straight than before the war”. Of course people who are willing to listen to a lie are more likely to believe that lie. But it’s hard to argue with a gas pump.

Also, describing the people who can tell you what party controls congress as a “high information voter” is actually embarrassing.
