They’re claiming they didn’t plan to do it on the main Amazon site, but they WERE going to on the Amazon haul website, which is the Amazon knock off version of temu.
And it kinda made sense on the haul website since those products almost exclusively come from China.
Trump is a populist, and populism works by claiming that someone else that they are fighting is the enemy of the public and the source of any problems in society.
Since the Republicans currently have a trifecta, control both houses of Congress and the Presidency, unless he’s going to attack the GOP, has to be someone outside of Congress and the Presidency. Can be a judge or a private company or something else.
At first glance, I thought that was some local child pageant star holding up a photo. Then, I remembered what timeline this is.

It sounds the trump expects every company to eat the tariffs. I do not see that happening, and if the big corporations do, it will drive all smaller business out of business if they cannot afford to absorb those costs.
There isn’t an issue on earth that he doesn’t see as transactional.
“I make money for you, you cover my ass” is his one and only worldview. Whether or not anyone else explicitly agrees to that deal is irrelevant. He simply can’t even imagine a world where that isn’t the default that everyone has.
