Just remember that you shouldn’t use your normal email or OS, and you shouldn’t send it from a device that you use regularly

Last I tried ‘free’ McDonalds WiFi, they blocked every site except mcdonalds.com, so that’s a no-go, at least in my region of southern Mississippi :(

That site is AWS hosted. Chances are, Tor’s meek will function.

OR you just missed a captive portal.

TOR + disposable email + VM = way more effort to track you down than any agency is going to be willing to commit

A virtual machine. Essentially a software emulation of a computer. It lets you run an entirely separate operating system within the one you’re primarily using.

Virtual machine. It is basically a program you can open that functions like a separate computer. The program dedicates some hardware resources and you install an OS of your choice. This has miltiple advantages: for the described purpose in the example above, the VM provides you with a fresh machinewhere you have not done any customization that would make you identifible. Other uses include e.g. using Windows software inside a Linux installation or experimenting with viruses (which would usually attack the sandboxed VM and not your actual OS).

Yep, everything sensitive i do lives in VMs using TOR that get destroyed the moment the task is completed. Pretty good general advice.

Sadly, many email anti-spam and anti-virus software check for zip bombs before the email ever reaches the targets inbox

As someone whos worked in IT, many government entities bypass spam rules because normal emails get blocked all the time, and Jim the police chief realllyyy wants his golf highlights weekly email (and he decides if theyre gonna employ us next quarter)

Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won’t be tolerated.

Don’t take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don’t have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We’re not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can’t control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.
