Banana for scale
And yet for pipes and monitors it’s still inches, for deodorants it’s still fl. oz. and PSI for pressure (despite pascal and bar existing).
Nope, it isn’t. The pipes of my AC are sold as 15cm, my monitor box said 68.5cm, my deodorant got 250ml in it and my E-Scooter tires show 2.5 bar on the pump’s display.
For monitors US companies unfortunately managed to screw up the default sizes for everyone so now laptops got “15.6 inches”, but both laptop and monitor packaging also usually says sth. like 40cm on it so that’s fine I guess.
I live in Japan. Pressure is in Bars (or, for older things, other odd units that are not PSI). Bicycle tires, screens, etc. are called HoweverManyInch-type but also have measurements listed in mm/cm. Nothing here has only floz. I guess imported products may, but I think they technically must be labeled in sensible units for sale.
In Denmark? My pipes in Germany are in mm, my deodorant in ml and my bike’s tire pressure is 4.5 bar. The only things that are in inches are computer-related: Disk sizes, rack sizes and monitors. TV screens diagonals are usually advertised in cm and inches, but if you want to know which tv fits into your shelf, you don’t care for the diagonal, but for width and height, which is metric.
This is true in the US too. In fact:
