Al Jazeera is using this framing, too; I suppose this is the Israeli/liberal polisci angle. They are essentially focusing on the technical process, where anyone running against Netanyahu is “opposition,” despite the fact that they both want to pillage the land and destroy the people living on it.

A possible outcome is that the two will form a coalition government. The last time that Netanyahu agreed to form a coalition government and do rotations where Netanyahu would serve as PM, followed by the other, the rotation just never happened. Interesting way to run a coalition government!! Regardless, a coalition between the two would also be a nightmare and should continue the status quo, simply with a fresh coat of liberal optics paint.

The Imperial core media really want Netanyahu to be a rejected leader voted out for a “progressive” opponent - who does not exist, but who has been chosen for the narrative regardless. I suppose my prediction would be that a Netanyahu that stays in power will lead to more of the Western media ignoring Israel’s existence as much as it can. If Netanyahu were to be “ousted,” I suppose that that could lead to an increased focus on Israel where they try to rejuvenate the ‘progressive Israel’ image that was so successful throughout the turn of the century, despite the ousters politics…
