At the risk of repeating myself, “dying of whiteness” was a pretty interesting and depressing look at this. Turns out a lot of people would rather suffer if it means those people have it worse.
Shame on them for allowing themselves to be manipulated like this.
Most People Would Die Sooner Than Think - In Fact, They Do So
Amy: “I don’t want my taxes going up!”
“Yes, your taxes will go up but you won’t have to pay for insurance or at the doctor’s office. How much are you paying now?”
Amy: 😦
She had no clue how much her family’s insurance ran.
Next day she was outside my office complaining to her friend that she couldn’t afford her $1,000 migraine shots.
“How’s that private insurance workin’ out for ya!”
Amy: 😦
I’ll add that she was well off on her own and married into a very well off family who ran the business we worked at. Amy had Pretty Girl Syndrome so no one ever said “no” to her, let alone argued, always looked slapped when I did so. She was a great person in most ways, just horribly ignorant in others.

This doesn’t just apply to health insurance. Housing is the same, rent is just paying a bloodsucking middleman, same as private housing insurance. We have more homes than homeless people, housing does not need to be a commodity. You can extend this to transit, internet access, power, and more.
And paying higher premiums because there’s less participants, as well as needing to cover the cost of all the extra hands in the pot.
I’m only paying for the healthcare of people within the same class of people like me who can afford private insurance, not the poors that can’t. I don’t want people of lower classes benefitting from my labor. /sarcasm
There are too many of these slam-dunks to fit on a T-shirt, and that makes me very sad.
