Phil McGraw, known as “Dr. Phil” for the eponymous American television series focused on mental health, followed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and other federal agents during the action, according to his X account and two sources familiar with the matter.
He holds a PhD which is a doctorate, giving him the title Doctor. Maybe we as a society should stop respecting people because of their titles.

He has a doctorate in clinical psychology. The same degree my wife has who works with patients. Her patients refer to her as Dr because that is what she has earned

The title Dr belongs to anyone who has a doctorate. I called all my professors in college Dr and they were all historians without a license to practice anything. The title goes with the degree, not any certification to practice.
