There is a part of me that wants to tell them that this is what they get for relying on those platforms, and they should have been seeding their message on independent platforms such as Mastodon, matrix, and/or Lemmy this whole time. an effective backstop is always the first step forward after a set back.
Except this is the only post I’ve seen about No Kings on lemmy this morning and I had to search for it on Bluesky. Maybe the problems are beyond the corporate media or maybe the revolution will not be televised…
The shame belongs squarely to Meta, not the protest organizers. Remember who is the real enemy. (Hint: not the protesters)
When you need to get your message to all the people, you don’t get to be picky about the platform.
Yes, these people should also be on Mastodon and Lemmy and PieFed and NextDoor and Facebook and Instagram and TikTok and Craigslist and Loops and whatever else is out there.
