I’ve been waiting for people to mention the first few magical girls. Basically all my knowledge on the subject comes from Kenny Lauderdale videos, I would have suggested Minky Momo or maybe Creamy Mami. I’m not actually sure how wide-reaching their influence is.

I get the intention but my eyes immediately zone in on that super spikey shoulder pad (and think ow)

Then Gurren Lagann has to count as influential on Promare.

I don’t think Digimon quite occupies the same sphere – it’s like comparing Chronicles of Narnia to Ready Player One.

I’m not even sure how to rate the multiple .hack// series here because they were really experimental (one branch leaving half of its story in PS2 games) and AFAIK nobody was directly copying them. Meanwhile, after SAO…

Evangelion for Gurren Laggan

Can you really count that when it was the same studio?

I think those are more common in MMOs like FF14. TBH since the little “thank you” in the corner suggests this is a commissioner’s OC, that was the assumption I made.

Fair enough! I have no idea if Bluesky uses moderation tools like that or if users just mark adult content on their own and have a selection checklist. What I do know is that all these sites asking you to make an account before allowing you to see (gasp) fictional thighs and bellies is making the internet feel a lot more hostile.

Some amateur translation might add some context tot he pic:

Dialogue:

また玄関で。。

Which is an incomplete sentence saying something like “through the front door again…” (I cannot say if “front door” is an innuendo here, I’ve never heard it as such)

Box in the bottom:

ほろ酔いペナンスお願いします

Which says “tipsy Penance, please” – I’m pretty sure this is the request dialogue box for Pixiv/Fanbox/Stacc or whatever service it is. It does mean she’s supposed to be somewhat drunk here.

I am beginning to see that ( •ω• )

The censorship slob

Lol what

Honestly, feel free to ignore me, I’m just venting over some silly things at the end of the day.

This too, is yuri. :P

(I hope I’m speaking the language correctly here, I’ve only ever heard it in passing)

Anyone who actually read the article feel free to correct me, but this reeks to me of the same kind of mentality as all games having to be either sports or spunk-gargle-wee-wee and anything that’s not “breaks the trend”.

There’s more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your battle shounen.

Auē! I thought I’d looked through Kuon/PrinzKuon’s works and didn’t find anything that wasn’t at least blatantly sexual (e.g. the series of RWBY booty shots) if not outright porn (even if the RWBY: Fallen series was extremely intriguing and seemed at least 50% grimdark by volume). Disappointed in myself at this point.

QUICKEDIT: With c/RWBY located in sh.itjust.works, I gotta be careful what I post so that’s why I say the above

I will also wish you a happy cake day! (*･ω･)ﾉ”┌iii┐♡

That’s not even that bad. I’ve scraped more burned layers off my toast and still eaten it.

You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!

In all seriousness Metamorphosis (AKA 177013) should probably come with some content warnings. Just wanted to give you a heads up in case you’re being completely genuine.
