13 days agoAndy Yen really dropped the ball especially because he hasn’t done anything significant to really establish trust in his leadership and the biggest thing he does is tank the company image.
Dude had the easiest job in the world — shut up, look smart, pretend to care and delegate. Instead, he jumps head first into left vs right of US politics on Twitter of all places 🤡
Tiktok has always been like this.
Their comment system is absolutely broken and actually it’s probably on purpose. 90% of these comments get restored on appeal but they are already burried deep so it’s very popular moderation strategy where the system relies on correction to appear safe an intelligent but the correction ends up being irrevant in the grand scale of things.
Same thing with Twitter community notes which add context when everyone already read the tweet to give an illusion of moderation and safety.
As an engineer I’m honestly very impressed by the effectivenes of this strategy — it’s brilliant despite, you know, being evil — and it’ll take public a while to catch up.
