As a start up, why not just use free, pre-existing web frameworks? Why are you reinventing the wheel to create stuff that you won’t be able to maintain? You’re sinking resources into something that is not needed, won’t have any payoff, and hamstrings all future development. If LLMs are half as smart as you seem to think they are, it would have told you that.
Seriously - did you think when OP stated:
Some of our devs use AI assistants for generating code for PRs and also to assist with PR reviews
that they were talking about html code? 😆
Writing html?! What are you on about? No one’s talking about writing html code with LLMs. That would be the biggest waste of tokens I can think of.
Except, you know… the predictions on what tools to use, how to use them, and what to do with the results of such tools. Everything in an LLM is as a result, one way or another, of the training data. And they haven’t been good or transparent on where they acquired that data or what licenses covered what they trained on.

As a local, one of the interesting things is that WaPo has always been anti-union, especially when it came to the unions of their own employees. It’s obviously worse now, but even in their supposed liberal inside-the-Beltway heyday, they were anti-union whenever given the chance. Canceling my subscription almost 15yrs ago remains something I have no regrets about.
There are no coding capabilities without the training data.
where do you think the data the models are trained on comes from? The Clanker Fairy?
Also, LLMs are notoriously bad for gathering info. They make up info and sources constantly. Look at all the lawyers found to have used LLMs that made up legal citations and cases. Or scientific papers citing studies that don’t exist.
AI isn’t a “tool” - it’s a set of subroutines built on the stolen labor and property of others using exploitative amounts of energy and resources to confidently make up something that’s wrong.
That’s a tool in the same way a hammer is a tool - if you stole it from your neighbor, it was coin-operated and gas-powered, and it often turned into a screwdriver or a halibut midswing and then obsequiously apologized.
GIGO was true pre-GenAI, but is no longer. You can take good data, train a model on it with the greatest care, do a well-structured prompt, and still get garbage out. Honestly, a lot of boomers and older GenX embrace GenAI because they still think GIGO applies without realizing what a broken assumption that is.
Looks like the lead singer of the band Castle Rat

Meanwhile, a substantial proportion of wetland-reclaimed croplands faced disproportionately high flood exposure.
I mean, it’s been known for a long time that one of the benefits of not developing wetlands is that leaving them alone means less adverse effects for surrounding areas when floods do happen. You turn that into an agricultural field and you lose 100% of that benefit and your crops are now under water.

A general rule of thumb to be a sane, rational, empathetic, and well-adjusted person is to take the opposite view point of Tim Sweeney at every opportunity.

If as few as 2% of reported rapes are false accusations but as recently as 2018, it was estimated that only 25% of rapes were reported to police, I think the argument that stuff like this “should be said” falls apart. When looking at false reports, you’re looking at essentially a statistical anomaly when looking at the total number of incidents of rape. Yes, it can be said to happen, but focusing on false reports actively discourages both men and women from reporting acts of sexual violence. The problem of people not feeling safe to report or that they wouldn’t be believed is a problem orders of magnitude greater in size than false reports.

I think it says a lot that some folks downvoted this despite it just being sourced stats of the level of sexual violence experienced by both men and women and the rarity of false reports. OP chose to post info about a case from more than 15yrs ago and didn’t even bother posting sources (probably because the age of the case would have tipped off how rare these types of situations are). Yes, these types of false reports are awful but the sheer number of incidents of rape against both men and women are staggering.

https://www.nsvrc.org/statistics/
“One in five women in the United States experienced completed or attempted rape during their lifetime”
“Nearly a quarter (24.8%) of men in the U.S. experienced some form of contact sexual violence in their lifetime.”
“Nationwide, 81% of women and 43% of men reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime.”
“One in three female victims of completed or attempted rape experienced it for the first time between the ages of 11 and 17”
And
“The prevalence of false reporting for sexual assault crimes is low — between two percent and 10 percent.”

Sure thing pal. Enjoy your “startup”.
