I am from the States where circumcision is common, and married an Aussie who is not circumcised.

Yes, there is a difference. In a lot of ways the presence of a foreskin makes sex and foreplay easier. For instance giving a handjob - most circumcised men don’t like a hand job that includes stroking the glans without lubrication because it hurts, while a foreskin slips over the glans and allows movement.

Giving head is pretty much the same, though it feels different obviously as there is skin there if the foreskin is not fully retracted.

Having intercourse is easier and less lubricant is needed, because the foreskin stays somewhat stationary during thrusting, preventing things from drying out.

Circumcision is so common in the States that most people there have never even seen an uncircumcised male, it doesn’t help that most porn is produced there.

Great reply and spot on to the question! Don’t know how to ask this, but why the need for any lubrication? I’ve had sex with a great many women and only a couple needed extra help. God that question sounds so shitty and intrusive…

Ah, I somehow missed this comment. There are lots of reasons one night need lube, a longer session, a size mismatch, use of toys during, and anal to name a few reasons.

With enough foreplay anal is possible without lube with an uncircumcised guy, but is definitely not possible with a circumcised guy.

It’s fairly common, especially as women age, to make less lubrication to keep up with demand during sex. Especially with PIV the lubricant is drying out with each thrust.

A reply brought me back to this.

Nah. I’ve had loads of sex with middle-aged women. They’re every bit as wet as the younger women.

There are definitely plenty of women who have no trouble with producing enough lubrication. However “not making enough lubrication” becomes more common with menopause and perimenopause.

A bit off topic, but why would anyone ever do something like this to their children?

As father I can’t even fathom of doing this to my son. It just sounds insane.

I’m a pretty progressive and atheist dad. I had it done to my kid at birth. I’ll tell you I was pretty dead set on not doing it to my kid until about a week before the due date. My Dad (soon to be grandfather, who is btw atheist as well) pulled me aside and said this (I’m paraphrasing d/t my own bad memory):

Just do it. I know you don’t want to, and I know it feels cruel now, but just do it. Think about your kid in school one day in the gym locker room and being teased mercilessly, for being different, about his genitals. Inviting that sort of bullying [about his physical sexual organ] can really mess with a young boy and create all sorts of psychological issues later. A brief moment of pain to prevent that? Just do it.

That reasoning really stuck with me in the moment. Maybe because I had my own issues with bullies and self esteem. I regret having it done a good amount when I’m reminded about it, but can’t change my decision.

If it helps, most men who get circumcised at birth don’t feel regrets about it as they grow up since, for them, it’s normal. There’s no loss of functionality, and it’s easier to keep clean. Wouldn’t beat yourself up about it anymore than people who get their daughters’ ears pierced at a young age.

There actually is loss of functionality though. Circumcision removes muscle tissue and mucus membranes that can never be restored again.

I’m not going to post pics but if you’ve ever seen the glands of both side by side, a cut man’s head is a dry crusty desert by comparison.

Most of the craziest shit that happens regularly in this world stems from religion.

I know some will argue of health benefits but I call bullshit on that outside of rare cases and poor hygiene.
