I had a roommate who needed a cane for awhile for a medical condition and it was basically an excuse for exactly this; just getting to be dapper with it. They did have a very nice cane…
My grandmother, back in the 90s, had a collection of canes, probably 3 dozen. Some of them held stoppered bottles, some of them were swords, none of them were just canes, and all of them were very fancy.
I’m pretty sure she never used a cane, so I’ve no clue why she had them, other than being goddamned awesome :)
I wonder which of the grandkids swiped those. It wasn’t me, sadly. They were gone before she was.
