Oh don’t worry - Lemmy will soon have people posting child porn, gore, or other things en-masse before reporting the site/domain. I’ve seen it on almost every Reddit alternative since Digg shut down.
They’ll run hit pieces against this place for being extremist, they’ll do all sorts of nasty shit.
So first they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you.
Reddit has CSAM on it. Reddit has a subreddit selling porn that is now known to feature CSAM. I along with a few others tried to kill it. We’re all here now.
Lemmy has already had CSAM instances.
I remember growing up we’d be graded down on our writing papers if we used an acronym without spelling out what it meant the first time.
child sexual abuse materials
how well known is the sub? Are we talking like, 30 users, or like 300k users.
Small which is likely why they never killed it.
I wonder how resistant to that Lemmy will be, with the whole federation thing. Harder to ban it when it’s not just one domain.
Yeah, I mean I barely understand this federated stuff. To my understanding, each instance has their own rules. I can’t post nudes on my Lemmy.ca to my understanding. I think if there’s an instance that is running “afoul” then the instance I connect with can block the entire instance?
Yep, that’s how we roll. Others can tell you the details. I’m just an end user. On my end I can block nazi’s, or anyone I don’t like. u/universalmonk was one, acted so surprised when I blocked and didn’t want to explain why. Funny thing, if you can block someone for being an asshat, suddenly they are less encouraged to do that, and have to find a more socially acceptable way to be. Cheers.
Links to that? Because I’ve never seen Universal Monk act surprised when someone blocked him/her.
In fact, he/she often recommended blocking them if you didn’t agree with what they said.
daily reminder that you can just use they/them in place of he/her she/him pronouns because that’s literally a designed feature of the english language.
You should know, right Monk?
Bingo!
All I did was ask for a link showing that UM was surprised or upset that you blocked her/him, because I’ve never seem them question that before. I always seem to remember them suggesting blocking them, not being upset by it.
I didn’t say you were incorrect; i was just asking for proof cuz I’ve never seen it. It’s not like I am super concerned about it or anything. But I don’t live on lemmy and have no investment between your feud–or whatever it is–with that person. not a big deal to me either way
Give it up, Monk. You’re not fooling anyone.
