Umm, excuse me, but why are you giving legitimacy to a figure who began his career by having early christian missionaries murdered, and who them went on to become the “leader” of the Christian Church? Does it not, in any way, make you question what is going on here? Saul, who was MOST DEFINITELY NOT a disciple, should have been assigned the duty of caring for the left behind loved ones of the people he had murdered, in order to begin to atone for his sins. If you think he should be forgiven, then you are being an exemplar of the virtues of Christ, so good on you. But to become the LEADER of the church, who to this day is seen as a guide for Christian morality, does not somehow seem wrong to you in any way?

James rejected Christ divinity until after his death and resurrection way worse than Paul who may have been a murderer but was changed by the holy Spirit James saw Christ and still denied him until he had a vision of him later

“Paul who may have been a murderer” What do you mean “may have been”?

See, folks, THIS is how many layers deep of brainwashing we are dealing with here. It is people like this that give Christianity a bad name. It is almost completely irredeemable.

As a descendant of the first people to convert, I am disappointed

Did you go to high school with him or something? Why should anyone believe you over the early church?

What are you even talking about?

See folks, THIS is the level of intellectual discourse that we are dealing with. The inability to even read a simple sentence and connect it with reality is a sign of mental illness in the extreme. The church was poisoned so long ago that the poisoning has become dogma.

My question is just as intellectual as your unsubstantiated opinion. “Church was poisoned” Which church? When? By who? How? And how do you know? What gives you authority? To what extent is Christianity even legitimate if church fathers can’t be trusted? If they can’t be trusted why should we trust you? Etc etc. You’re just doing Mr. Potatohead style Christianity where you believe whatever you want.

You are in no way the intellectual you think you are

Let’s talk about it the soup kitchen, or on the overnight shift at the homeless shelter… Oh, yeah, you’ve never even set one foot in either of those, because your devotion to the ‘Church father’s’ convinced you that you are following the commands of your Lord and savior, just like the ‘Church fathers’ told you

Simple sheep, out your head back down and stop embarrassing the rest of your flock

We feed the homeless once a month and put a guy up in a hotel over the entire winter because he was living on the street. My priest adopted two kids from abusive homes and raised them as his own. We have a fund specifically for people who call the church in distress due to crisis in housing, food etc.

Uh oh now what’re you going to do?

You are taking about the actions your church engages in, right?

NOT the actions YOU PERSONALLY have engaged in

You are convinced that your approach is the correct one, even when it is obviously not working

You could really read the Bible for yourself, and resist what you are being told to think, and see what happens

Your Lord and Savior is telling you, you directly, how to act, and you are not doing his bidding

Ever ask yourself if he is disappointed in you?

The Catholic Church is the front for so much evil in this world. Go on, keep defending evil. Let’s see how that works out

I’m Orthodox not Catholic. You know the church that formed the canon of scripture you’re telling me to read? I do participate in many of these things including the feeding program. So again your presumptuousness just shows how haughty, proud and judgemental you are. The problem with “read the Bible yourself” mentality isnt that reading the Bible is bad but if you do it without the necessary accompaniment of church tradition people like you spring up shouting the “truth” while all disagreeing with one another. There are thousands of splintered Protestant denominations not including street corner shouting schizoids like yourself that only have scripture and church history because ancient Christians and the church preserved it for you. Your theology is half-baked bunk you neurotically concocted probably while shouting down a normal person somewhere. Let me guess. You think Paul was an Anti-christian usurper and his Epistles should be discarded.
